Shaquille Thompson

Media Relations Director

Mr. Shaquille is a Guyanese videographer, humanitarian advocate, and the creator of ‘Black Lives Glen Cove’ – a Facebook page for the black residents of Glen Cove, New York, to share their black experiences and news. Early on in his life, he witnessed people around him experience extreme poverty and quickly understood its vast effects on the quality of life. When he finally discovered the ways in which he could be a voice for change within his own community and beyond, he sought to take action.

Through his online platforms, he has been an advocate against parental abuse and religion-based violence against children since 2023. His experiences growing up in the projects of New York shaped his passion for advocating for vulnerable children. His biggest motivation is the overall long-term effect of early childhood experiences throughout a person’s life. He has been a content creator since 2018, using online spaces to build his media portfolio and make recognizable change.

In 2020, at the peak of the COVID-19 outbreak, he joined ‘The Northshore Hispanic Chambers of Commerce’ of New York alongside his family to distribute food, school supplies, gifts, and other essential supplies. He and his family wanted to give back to the community as the founders of one of the only black businesses in the area.

He spends his time amplifying humanitarian groups, bringing support to their work through social media platforms. As the Media Relations Director (M.R.D.) of Mutual Aim, he is an essential member of the team, ensuring that our work is well documented and relayed to those who seek to support us.
