Omolola Abdulazeez
Program Director - MAV Chad
Ms. Omolola is a Nigerian women's rights advocate. Since 2020, she has used her personal experiences to push for change on behalf of other women experiencing domestic violence. As a mother of girls, it is her greatest passion to create a world where women can live without the fear of gender-based violence.
In addition, she is an advocate for the rights of African women’s liberation in a system that still longs for progressiveness. Many women across Nigeria are often punished for things beyond their control, and Omolola is passionate about seeking change and creating systems that do not separate mothers from their children or unnecessarily punish women on the basis of their gender.
Since 2018, she has used her resources to bring support to those who are underrepresented in her community, providing food and other forms of aid to those in need. She has been interviewed by several NGOs and other entities, where she partook in projects that aimed to bring light to issues that disproportionately affect women and girls. She has also been featured in blogs that have been known to highlight the same issues.
In her quest to be a part of change, she hopes to support orphaned children and provide safe spaces for them to grow and be a part of safe and loving communities. This dream is what led her to join the Mutual Aim team – to help us bring the Mutual Aim Village (M.A.V. Chad) to life.
