Adeseke Adebambo
Founder and Executive Director
Ms. Adeseke is a Nigerian humanitarian and activist who has dedicated most of her life to the service of her community. In Lagos, Nigeria, where she spent her early years, she volunteered alongside her family in bringing food and supplies to underserved communities of the state. She also spent much of her time volunteering at orphanage homes in Lagos.
In 2019, she led the African Student Association (A.S.A) on her college campus. As its president, she revived an association that had once been abandoned and overlooked by the school committee and the institution’s general population. Under her leadership, a place for African voices and the African diaspora was regained, encouraging an atmosphere for sharing and appreciating culture. Most importantly, a place for black experiences to be highlighted and validated.
As a former criminal justice student, she learned about the injustices against marginalized groups within the Western world in ways she might not have before leaving Nigeria, and this sparked the need to be a part of something more. In 2020, during the peak of the George Floyd protests, she began her journey as an activist, sharing knowledge and demanding justice. 2023 was the beginning of a new journey as she began to use her online platform in ways that would take her down a path she could only dream of. After months of reporting devastations from across the world, she created Mutual Aim and launched the organization on the 6th of May 2024. She has since led a team of passionate and selfless individuals in creating a significant impact in Africa.
